About the Event
September 13th celebrates the harvest moon. moon-viewing is a tradition that has been practiced since the Heian period 平安時代 (794-1185) in Japan. Join us to celebrate this Japanese tradition in the tea room, where we will admire the full moon in an outdoor tea gathering, understand the history behind the festival, and enjoy traditional food such as shirtama dango as well as fun activities such as mochi making (mochi tsuki), origami and the art of Japanese calligraphy.
